The Back Story

This project is really close to my heart. I live just a stone’s throw from the Cliffs of Moher and have been documenting them for over 10 years.

In 2019, I published a book about them called Daily Cliffs.

Cormac, my next-door neighbour, and I have been bumping into each other at the cliffs for years.

After spending over a decade working on documentaries, we thought it was time to try and make one ourselves.

I grew up in Mayo and spent my summers surfing and hiking in Achill, where my parents had a mobile home. Cormac grew up in one of the closest houses to Sliabh Liag in Donegal.

Now, we both live side by side here in Clare, near the Cliffs of Moher. So it felt natural to start the series by going back to where we grew up for Episode 1, and then focus on the Cliffs of Moher where we live now for Episode 2.

I’m incredibly proud to be Director of photography and co-director with Paddy Hayes on this project. This project was a co production between Kev L Films & Tua Films .

I really hope you enjoy the series as much as we enjoyed making it.
